Wet moulding vegetable tanned leather is an exciting and rewarding avenue to explore, and can create really fantastic results!
Wet moulded vegetable tanned leather holds its shape once dry, and bags produced this way have a really classy style and unique character.
These two-piece bag moulds are hand made in the UK to exacting standards, using top quality 18mm birch plywood, pink douglas fir and rust resistant zinc passivated screws.
All woods are FSC certified and the pink douglas fir moulding block is treated with a blend of natural oils and hardening agents which cannot leach out of the wood.
Our bag moulds are inspired by Valerie Michael's fantastic book, 'The Leatherworking Handbook', which includes a detailed, 6 page feature on moulded bag making, with dozens of photos and all the instructions you need to achieve perfect results. We highly recommend that you purchase the book as a companion to this mould, especially if you are new to wet moulding. (details can be found below in related items)
