This is a 30x60cm (1 x 2ft) panel of undyed vegetable tanned tooling leather.
Carefully tanned using time honoured methods, this leather has a firm, even texture, a beautifully smooth surface and a tidy flesh side.
At 1.8-2mm thick this weight is ideal for embossing and dyeing, but if you want to carve we'd suggest that you consider a slightly heavier weight.
Veg tan leather is great for wet moulding, as it's fibres become very malleable when dampened with warm water.
It's also very receptive to leather dyes, and can be treated with a surface finish once you have completed the embossing, carving or dyeing your leather.
