Information
A strop is used for the final stage in sharpening a knife blade. These are made from a paddle shaped wooden base which has a leather section attached on both sides, one side with the smooth grain side facing outwards, and one side with the slightly rougher flesh side showing.
A strop can be used with valve grinding paste (carborundum paste) or with sharpening compound / jeweller's rouge to provide the abrasion needed to bring a keen edge to your blade.
This strop has a leather area of 75 x 170mm (3" x 6.75") and an overall length of 310mm (12.25 inches)
